The Trouble with Data Centers

Nowadays, there is a flood of media attention directed at data centers: they make too much noise, they use too much energy, etc. While methods exist to prevent certain resource usage (whether or not they’re actually used remains up for debate!), a very significant aspect is getting ignored: they’re _ugly_ and significantly destructive to local land. Even if they’re used they’re…. fugly. And if they’re not even used… The thing about these monstrosities is that you can’t unpour concrete. Once that building’s there, it’s gonna stick around a while.
